Fort Wayne Jewish Federation Inc. (“FWJF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit fwjf.org, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, make a donation, register for a program, participate in an event, submit forms, or otherwise interact with FWJF.
1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through:
- Our website, fwjf.org.
- Contact forms and other online forms.
- Email communications.
- Newsletter signups.
- Donation and payment-related interactions.
- Event, program, and camp registrations.
- Paper forms, including Camp Joe and health-related forms.
- Photo, video, and media releases.
- Other interactions with FWJF.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, donation platforms, social media sites, or services that FWJF does not own or control.

3. How We Collect Information
We collect information in several ways:
- Directly from you when you submit a form, email us, call us, register for a program, subscribe, donate, or attend an event.
- From parents or legal guardians who submit information for children participating in programs such as Camp Joe.
- Through third-party service providers such as Bloomerang, Mailchimp, Gravity Forms, CAPTCHA/anti-spam providers, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
- Automatically through cookies, analytics tools, server logs, and similar technologies.
- From paper forms, printed applications, emailed PDFs, and other offline or administrative records.
4. How We Use Information
FWJF may use information for the following purposes:
- Responding to questions, suggestions, and contact requests.
- Processing donations, pledges, recurring gifts, honor gifts, memorial gifts, and campaign gifts.
- Sending donation acknowledgments, receipts, and administrative communications.
- Managing donor records and internal financial records.
- Administering programs, events, registrations, camps, and community activities.
- Processing Camp Joe applications and related parent/guardian authorizations.
- Managing health, allergy, medication, emergency contact, and safety information for programs where such information is required.
- Sending Chailights and other FWJF newsletters or communications.
- Maintaining internal records.
- Improving the website, communications, programs, and donor experience.
- Measuring website performance through Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Preventing spam, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
- Complying with legal, tax, accounting, audit, insurance, and nonprofit recordkeeping obligations.
- Protecting FWJF, our community, our participants, our donors, and others.
5. Donations and Payment Processing
Online donations are processed through Bloomerang or other donation/payment service providers used by FWJF.
When you make a donation, the payment processor may collect payment card information, billing information, transaction details, and other information needed to process the gift. FWJF receives donation records needed for acknowledgment, donor stewardship, accounting, compliance, and internal nonprofit operations.
FWJF does not intentionally store full payment card numbers through fwjf.org.
All donations are nonrefundable, except where required by law or where FWJF determines that correction of a transaction error, duplicate charge, or similar administrative issue is required.
6. Restricted and Designated Gifts
If you designate a gift for a specific fund, campaign, program, honor, memorial, or purpose, FWJF uses that information to administer the gift and maintain appropriate records.
FWJF does not intentionally redirect restricted or designated gifts to unrelated purposes without donor consent. If a designation cannot be honored, FWJF may contact the donor to request written permission for an alternate use or handle the donation in accordance with applicable law and FWJF’s internal policies.
7. Donor Privacy
FWJF does not publish donor names in newsletters, event materials, annual reports, honor/memorial listings, or similar public materials unless the donor provides explicit permission or disclosure is required by law.
FWJF does not sell donor lists.
FWJF does not share donor information with Jewish Federations of North America, local congregations, event partners, vendors, sponsors, or other outside organizations for their independent fundraising or marketing purposes without consent.
We may use service providers to process donations, maintain records, send communications, host systems, or perform administrative services on FWJF’s behalf.
8. Newsletter and Email Communications
FWJF uses Mailchimp to manage Chailights and related email communications.
When you subscribe, we may collect your email address, first name, last name, subscription preferences, and email engagement information such as opens, clicks, and unsubscribe status.
You may unsubscribe from newsletter or marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting office@fwjf.org.
Even if you unsubscribe from newsletters, we may still send administrative, transactional, donation-related, registration-related, or legal notices when necessary.
9. Contact Forms and Gravity Forms
FWJF uses Gravity Forms or similar website form tools to collect information submitted through website forms.
Contact forms may collect your name, email address, phone number, message, and anti-spam/CAPTCHA verification information. We use this information to respond to your inquiry, route your request, prevent spam, maintain records, and improve communication.
Do not submit sensitive medical, financial, or child-related information through the general contact form unless specifically instructed by FWJF.
10. CAPTCHA and Anti-Spam Tools
Our website uses CAPTCHA or similar anti-spam tools to help prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and automated form submissions.
These tools may collect technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, interaction data, and other signals needed to determine whether a submission is legitimate.
11. Children’s Privacy and Camp Joe
FWJF offers programs, including Camp Joe, that may involve children under 13. However, our website is not intended for children under 13 to submit personal information directly.
Information about children should be submitted by a parent or legal guardian through the appropriate registration, paper, PDF, email, or administrative process.
For Camp Joe or similar programs, FWJF may collect child-related information such as name, birthdate, age, attendance selection, parent/guardian information, emergency contact information, authorized pickup information, health information, allergy information, medication information, physician information, insurance information, and parent/guardian permissions.
If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly through the website without parent or guardian involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information or obtain appropriate parent/guardian consent, unless retention is required by law, safety, insurance, or administrative needs.
Parents or legal guardians may contact us at office@fwjf.org to request review, correction, or deletion of their child’s information, subject to applicable legal, safety, insurance, program, and recordkeeping obligations.
12. Health and Medical Information
Some program forms may collect health or medical-related information, including allergies, medications, emergency medical authorization, physician information, and health insurance information.
FWJF uses this information to support participant safety, emergency response, program administration, and compliance with internal policies.
This information should be submitted only through designated program forms or approved channels. Please do not submit health or medical information through the general website contact form unless specifically instructed.
13. Photos, Videos, and Media Releases
FWJF may take or use photos, videos, recordings, or other media from programs, events, and community activities.
For children’s programs, FWJF obtains parent or legal guardian media/photo releases where required by FWJF policy.
Approved photos, videos, or recordings may be used for nonprofit, educational, archival, newsletter, website, social media, promotional, or community purposes, consistent with the applicable consent or release.
To request review or removal of a photo or video, contact office@fwjf.org. Removal may not always be possible where materials have already been printed, archived, distributed, or published by third parties.
14. Cookies, Analytics, and Website Performance
FWJF uses Google Analytics to understand website traffic, usage patterns, page performance, and visitor engagement.
Google Analytics and similar tools may collect technical information such as:

- Browser type.

FWJF also uses Google Search Console to understand how the website appears in Google Search, including search performance, indexing, and related website health information.

FWJF does not sell personal information.
FWJF does not share donor, contact, or camp information with outside organizations for their independent marketing or fundraising purposes without consent.
16. Data Retention
FWJF retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, accounting rules, tax obligations, insurance requirements, audit requirements, safety needs, or internal nonprofit policies.
